Surf95 Privacy Policy

Short version: Surf95 does not collect, sell, or transmit your personal data. It's an art project, not an ad-tech operation.

What the browser extension stores

The extension keeps a few things locally in your own browser (via the browser's storage), and nothing leaves your device:

• the sites you 👍 Like or 👎 skip, so it can tune what it shows you
• your selected topic and theme (ClassicOS / AerogelOS)
• the bar's on/off state and position

This data is never sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser data erases it. The full list of ~20,000 sites is bundled inside the extension; it is not fetched from a server as you browse.

Permissions the extension asks for, and why

• Access to websites you visit — so it can drop the little surf bar onto the page you're on and send you to the next random site in the same tab. It does not read, collect, or transmit page content.
• Storage — to save the local preferences listed above.

The website (surf95.com)

• Visitor counter — the site keeps a single aggregate count of total visits. No individual tracking, no profiles, no cookies for advertising.
• Site submissions — if you use the "submit a site" form, the URL and optional note you type are emailed to us so we can consider adding it. That's the only thing you actively send us.
• Favicons — site icons in the app are loaded from Google's public favicon service, which necessarily sees the domain of the icon being requested. No personal data is involved.

Third parties

We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. We don't sell data (we don't have any to sell). The site is hosted on Vercel.
